Lung function tests are an essential part of diagnosis and ongoing management of chronic airways disease. Pharmacists can play a key role in identifying people at risk of, or with, undiagnosed chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

  • describe lung function tests used to diagnose and monitor respiratory illness;
  • describe how lung function tests are conducted and their results interpreted;
  • use results from lung function tests to make therapeutic recommendations.
