Night-time symptoms in COPD: A forgotten aspect of clinical management
Over 75% of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) experience nighttime symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, breathlessness, or tightness in the chest. This module is designed to help you understand the impact of night-time COPD symptoms, and provide you with tools and resources to support your COPD patients.
On completion of this education activity participants will be able to:
- Understand the prevalence of night-time symptoms in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and how this impacts the burden of disease.
- Improve detection and assessment of night-time COPD symptoms in general practice and be able to accurately assess the impact on the patient.
- Implement treatment strategies to effectively address night-time symptoms in patients with COPD.
- Access and utilise tools and resources for supporting patients with COPD who experience night-time symptoms.
