Online Course: Sensorimotor Impairment in Neck Pain

Duration
1-1.5 hours
Introduction

Trauma to the neck, like with whiplash, can cause the cervical receptors in a patient’s neck to become dysfunctional affecting the patient’s sensorimotor control. This leads to symptoms affecting a patient’s balance and proprioception and leading to feelings of dizziness and unsteadiness.  These symptoms are often not recognised and not treated as part of the rehabilitation process. The course will cover sensorimotor function and impairment in patients with neck pain as well as differentiation, evaluation, and specific management.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize you with the evaluation and rehabilitation of sensorimotor impairment in patients with neck pain.

Outline

The course content is split into the following sections:

  • Watch a video interview with Chris Worsfold
  • Read a related physiopedia page
  • Pass a quiz
  • Target audience

This course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy clinicians, students and assistants. Other interested professionals such as athletic trainers, occupational therapists, nurses or medical doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
