Paediatric e-Learning Programme for Occupational Therapists
The Paediatric e-Learning Programme is designed to help healthcare professionals develop their skills and expertise in caring for children and young adults. It is particularly suited to paediatricians, paediatric advanced nursing practitioners, general practitioners, staff in emergency departments, and community healthcare workers. The content is used by trainees and fully qualified practitioners.
High-quality e-learning on paediatric care
Developed by Health Education England, e-Learning for Healthcare, the programme is suitable for healthcare professionals around the world.
The programme covers four key areas:
- cardiology
- diabetes and endocrinology
- respiratory paediatrics
- paediatric palliative care
Designed for self-paced study, the learning sessions explore an extremely broad range of topics, from clinical themes through to communication skills and dealing with ethical issues.
You can select sessions that are relevant to your role or specialist interests – working through the material whenever you have a few spare minutes. The content can be used for general reference, to refresh your knowledge and in preparation for face-to-face training.
Test your skills with real patient case studies
The content features many videos, images, animations and self-assessment exercises. Case studies enable you to reflect on real-life patient scenarios. You can read medical histories and watch videos of clinical consultations before answering questions on your observations. This enables you to test your diagnoses in the safety of a virtual setting.

The programmes are high quality self-directed learning programmes. They are designed to support training and CPD and are excellent resources alongside other traditional teaching methodologies. However, many of the programmes have international relevance, particularly the specialty training programmes which are often mapped to UK specialty training curricula.
