PAINRefresh 2021: Multidisciplinary Pain Management Workshop

Assessing and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
Based on Sydney Medical School's internationally recognised postgraduate program in pain management, this workshop is aimed at all health professionals interested in pain management.
About the workshop
PAINRefresh 2021 is arguably the most comprehensive multi-disciplinary pain workshop worldwide in 2021! The workshop will be held over one week and features two streams of topics to cater for different interests.
The workshop integrates basic science, research outcomes and clinical applications. The content is based on the International Association for the Study of Pain’s (IASP) interprofessional core curriculum and the faculty includes experienced clinicians and internationally recognised specialists.
The objective is to increase participants’ knowledge and skills in assessing and managing patients with acute and/or chronic pain conditions.
Registration includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Welcome drinks will also be provided at the end of the first day.
Who should attend?
All health professionals who deal with pain and pain-related problems. This includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, dentists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, osteopaths, chiropractors, and students in all health disciplines.

Workshop outline
During PAINRefresh, participants will be provided a comprehensive overview of all major aspects of pain management, integrating basic science with its clinical application. The content is based on the IASP endorsed Master of Medicine (Pain Management) and Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) programs offered through the University of Sydney.
