Background
The role of nurses in the provision of palliative care is fundamental within the multi-disciplinary team. The complexities that surround palliative care are not always ‘black and white’. This module aims to support your daily work as a nurse, provide insight for those who wish to learn more about the field, and strengthen your confidence when encountering difficult situations to help you provide the best quality care.

With a few areas of the module focusing on the palliative care of lung cancer patients, this module largely provides an overview that intends to be useful for all types of nurses, including other types of healthcare professional.

Duration
This e-learning module will take you just 60 minutes of module-based learning. Optional pre-reading available in the ‘resources’ section on this page will take approximately 30-60 minutes. Saving where you left off, you can dip in and out of the module whenever you have the time. You are encouraged to take notes/save personal screenshots during the module to reinforce your learning.

Accreditation
A certificate is still available to download upon module completion to add to your portfolio, however accreditation received by the Federation of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has expired.
