Palpitations: An Acute Care Approach

This instalment of the Rural Health Webinar Series will explore the assessment and management of palpitations, one of the most common reasons for patients to present to general practice and emergency departments, and the second most common condition dealt with by cardiologists. Through a general overview and discussion a number of common case presentations, participants will develop a structured and safe approach to identify and manage the serious causes of palpitations from the benign.

Dr Geoff Couser
Dr Couser is an emergency physician at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and has interests in medical education and low value care. He developed emergency medicine as a discipline at the University of Tasmania and is the clinical lead for Choosing Wisely at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
