he RESP Plus: Airway and Sedation workshop focuses on essential skills in critical care and extended emergency medicine skills. The airway and sedation workshop addresses the challenges in rural practice to the management of the complex medical patient, management of the severely agitated patient, procedural sedation in the rural setting and anaesthetics upskilling. Each session will have a particular focus on emergency presentations in a rural setting.

Pre-course quiz: Used as an aid to assess knowledge of a topic before participant begins. It has 5 questions and would be expected to take no longer than about 15 minutes to complete.
A short survey is to be completed post workshop. It is designed to enable you to consider how the course has influenced your clinical practice. The survey has three short answer questions and 2 scenario based questions and should take no longer than 15-20 minutes to complete.
Explain the role and use of procedural sedation/analgesia in acute clinical practice.
Develop a checklist for the immediate priorities for the patient with severe agitation.
Plan communication strategies required for resuscitation of seriously ill patient.
List the management strategies for obtaining a definitive airway in the unstable patient.
Develop a checklist for the management of a patient with difficult airway.
