Rural Anaesthetic Crisis Management (RACM)

Rural Anaesthetic Crisis Management (RACM) is a course for Rural Generalists, taught by Rural Generalists and provides participants with contemporary learning environments designed around guided scenario based activities.
The training includes technical and non-technical skills with a focus on team communication and improving emergency anaesthetic skills for clinicians practicing in rural & remote environments.
The training scenarios (based on the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) emergency response activities) include can't intubate/can't oxygenate; management of haemorrhage; management of anaphylaxis; and severe behavioural disturbance.
This program will guide participants through the current guidelines, review pharmacological options and considerations, and enable real world practical skills development in a constructive and supportive environment.
This course will demonstrate effective management of:
- Major Haemorrhage
- Acute Severe Behavioural Disturbance
Please note: It is mandatory that participants be present for the entire duration of the RACM course (8am to 5pm local time). Therefore it is highly recommended for interstate travelers to arrive at the course location at least one day prior to the commencement of the course.
If for any unexpected reason a participant arrives after the course has commenced, their place in the course will be forfeited. The participant will be required to re-book and this may also incur additional charges.
