SENSOR USE TO MANAGE LOAD IN MSK CONDITIONS

  • : Online
Overview

Dr Joel Fuller works on research projects with a clinical focus. One of his current projects is investigating the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) in elite sport to understand the foot-ground interface in rugby league as it pertains to mechanical player load and the potential performance and injury consequences. This presentation will provide a background on the current state of play on the use of IMUs, and more broadly, will present an overview of the use of sensor technology in managing load management and injury risk profile in various musculoskeletal conditions. It will draw on their previous experience, current research and will cast forward into the future.

Presenter

Dr Joel Fuller is a physiotherapy and biomechanics lecturer in the Department of Health Professions at Macquarie University and is a registered physiotherapist. His research interests are in the prevention and treatment of sporting injuries and optimisation of sports performance.
