This session explores the natural history, diagnosis and management of key differential diagnoses of anogenital warts.

Learning objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • list the differential diagnoses of anogenital warts
  • differentiate normal anatomical variants that present as genital lumps
  • discuss other differential diagnoses of anogenital warts
  • describe the natural history of molluscum contagiosum
  • detail the presentation and complications of molluscum contagiosum
  • discuss the management of molluscum contagiosum

Prerequisites
Before commencing this session you should complete:

  • Module 01/Sexual history (260-0004)
  • Module 01/Male genital examination (260-0009)
  • Module 01/Female genital examination (260-0010)
  • Module 05/Genital lumps (260-0066)

This session indicates the key differential diagnoses of anogenital warts and describes their aetiology, clinical identification, advice to patients and indicates when further investigation is required. In particular, the natural history, diagnosis and management of molluscum contagiosum are described.
