Description
This session will cover the natural history, clinical presentation and management of trichomonal infection in adults, excluding infection refractory to treatment.

Learning objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • describe the presentation of trichomoniasis in adults
  • list the recognised complications of trichomoniasis
  • recall the performance of diagnostic tests for trichomoniasis
  • identify treatment regimens for the effective management of Trichomonas vaginalis (T. vaginalis)
  • describe the management of sexual partner(s) of infected individuals

Prerequisites
Before commencing this session you should complete the following sessions:
