Aim:
To assist participants to gain an understanding of key risk and protective factors (including the theory of stress) relevant to working and living during an emergency. Also, to gain an overview of relevant self-care techniques that can be used to prevent ill health and to promote wellbeing.
Learning outcomes:
• Recognise the risk and protective factors in a natural disaster setting.
• Recognise the theory of stress.
• Develop self-care techniques that can be used to promote wellbeing.
