This course is designed to help registered nurses, midwives and enrolled nurses develop confidence and competence in the provision of cervical cancer screening. History taking and breast awareness will also be covered in this course.Entry requirements / eligibility
All nurses and midwives must hold current registration with AHPRA.Learning outcomes
- To demonstrate ability in obtaining an accurate well women’s history
- To demonstrate confidence and competency in cervical cancer screening
- To be able to discuss breast awareness
Commences 4 weeks prior to workshop, which must be completed before the workshop.
|Examination||Online examination, which must be completed before the workshop|
Attendance at a one day workshop
Workshop time: 8:45am - 4:30pm
|Clinical training||Up to 14 hours of supervised clinical training at a Family Planning NSW clinic to be completed within 12 weeks after the workshop date|
A Statement of Attainment will be issued upon successful completion of the online assessments and demonstrating clinical competence in cervical screening during supervised clinical training.
