Wound Care Education for the Health and Care Workforce | Essentials of Digital Wound Imaging
Learning objectives
The learning objectives and content of the session have been developed for Level 4 study and by the end of the session you should be able to:
- demonstrate awareness of the key principles in the use of digital images for wound evaluation and management
- describe the clinical indications for digital images
- explain the factors and processes involved in taking good quality images
- apply this understanding to taking and using digital images in your own area of practice
Prerequisites
Prior to starting this session, you should have completed the following:
Essentials of Wound Assessment. View session
Effective wound assessment, wound management and wound evaluation increasingly include the use of colour digital image(s).
Services that care for people with wounds should have information governance and safeguarding policies. These policies should enable staff to take and use wound digital images 24 hours a day.
This series of images shows the progressive healing of a lower limb wound over time.
