142936 - Occupational and environmental cancer GP e-learning module
The occupational and environmental cancer GP e-learning module is an online, self-paced learning activity to help increase GPs knowledge regarding workplace carcinogens and cancer in the Australian context.
Relevance to General PracticeThe module aims to improve GPs ability to identify high risk workplaces and knowledge of common carcinogens, take adequate workplace exposure histories, link common cancers to workplace carcinogen exposures and increase knowledge of the Australian compensation system. There are eight modules throughout the e-learning activity that involve case studies and quizzes to ensure understanding of key learning objectives. Common workplace cancers covered include lung, bladder, skin and mesothelioma. GPs are at the front line of health care and can have a major influence on the recognition of individual cases, and on the prevention of further cases of occupational cancer; therefore it is vital to have a good understanding of occupational cancer in Australia.
