IBD for GPs and Physicians Workshop series – IBD Workshop 2

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect more than 180,000 Australians and require ongoing, coordinated care. General practitioners are essential to effective, multidisciplinary management of these chronic conditions, but many report limited training and confidence in this area.

Workshop 2 in this Workshop series continues our commitment to strengthening GP engagement in IBD care through evidence-based education, peer collaboration, and specialist insight.

  What You’ll Learn
  • This live, interactive session will explore:
  • Monitoring IBD in the general practice setting
  • Recognising and responding to disease flares
  • Principles of shared care and effective referral pathways
  • Communication strategies between GPs, specialists, and patients

Led by a multidisciplinary panel of GPs, gastroenterologists, and educators, the session features case-based learning, peer discussion, and practical tools aligned with national clinical guidelines.

Before You Join

We encourage you to complete the corresponding self-directed module on the IBD for GPs and Physicians platform to make the most of this workshop.

This workshop is brought to you by Crohn’s & Colitis Australia (CCA), in partnership with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL).
