About this Event

Program Objective:

PEPA  is funded by the Department of Health and is aimed at preparing Australia's health workforce to deliver quality, holistic, person-centred and culturally responsive care to people with life-limitng illness.

Aim of workshop:

Develop an understanding of a palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Target Audience:

• Southern Cross Care Staff only

• AINs and support workers in residential aged care

Topics Include:

• What is the Palliative Approach to Care?

• Who & how do we provide a Palliative Approach to care?

• What are the cultural, psycho-social & spiritual considerations?

• What are the most common symptoms experienced by patients?

• What should End of Life care look like & what is your role?
