Management for Health Professionals
This course is designed specifically for health professionals who are transitioning into management roles and need to build confidence in leadership and administrative responsibilities. Many clinicians find themselves promoted into management positions due to strong performance in their clinical duties, yet often face challenges in areas such as rostering, budgeting, resource allocation, and people management. The Management for Health Professionals course addresses these gaps by providing structured learning across four modules: (A) The healthcare system, (B) Managing and influencing, (C) Managing people, and (D) Managing general resources and finances. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Australian and New Zealand healthcare environments, organizational governance, funding streams, leadership principles, and authority structures. The course also emphasizes practical skills such as conflict management, negotiation, workforce planning, job role review, position description writing, and roster development. Additionally, learners will explore strategies to enhance resilience, time management techniques, and methods for preparing budgets and reading financial statements. Delivered entirely online, the program offers flexibility with six months of access, allowing participants to complete modules at their own pace. Upon completion, learners receive a certificate of completion and earn 6 CPD hours accredited by AICG and RACGP. This course is part of the From Clinician to Manager bundle, which supports career progression into leadership roles. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the tools to confidently navigate healthcare systems, manage teams effectively, and handle financial and resource responsibilities with competence. This makes it an essential stepping stone for clinicians aspiring to become successful healthcare managers.
