Learning objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the common causes of physical disability
  • Describe common less visible problems for the child with a disability
  • Explain the International Classification of Functioning and the focus on function rather than disability
  • Describe key interventions from the multidisciplinary team that minimise barriers to participation in school
  • Describe how key working and ‘team around the child’ model can be used

This session uses self assessments that help you check what you have learnt. You do not have to use them and your answers are not seen by anyone else.
