This session outlines the different methods used by general dental practitioners to restore endodontically treated teeth. It discusses various restorative methods used in different scenarios. It also reviews the impact of such techniques on the long-term survival of endodontically treated teeth.

The restoration of endodontically treated teeth is an important aspect of dental practice. The aim of endodontic and restorative dentistry is the conservation of natural tooth structure.

Hana Al-Kharusi,
Endodontics Postgraduate, King's College London

Hana qualified with BDMS from Cairo University Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine in July 2001. She trained for a year (2001-2002) in Cairo as an intern dental surgeon, then joined the Ministry of Health in the Sultanate of Oman in 2002. Hana worked at the Al Nahdha Hospital (dental department), the Bowsher polyclinic (dental department) and various health centres in the Muscat Region.

Hana passed the MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2007, where she was awarded the TC-White medal for outstanding performance. She is currently enrolled in a three year programme (MClinDent/MRD) in Endodontics at King’s College London.

Somayeh qualified in 2004: BDS (London), Endo Dip (QMUL).

She is currently undertaking an MClinDent in Endodontics at GKT and is due to qualify in 2014. Somayeh is working in endodontics at several private practices.
