Managing Health and Safety in Denstistry
This session will explore a range of aspects relating to the principles and application of health and safety management in dental practices.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the key principles for managing health and safety
- Define aspects of health and safety law
- State responsibilities for health and safety within the organisational structure
- Explain the five steps of a health and safety management process
It has long been recognised, and is the general consensus of opinion, that health and safety is not the most interesting of subjects. This is probably one of the reasons why in many organisations, the approach to health and safety is somewhat reactive, that is, health and safety is only addressed following a significant event.
Before commencing this session you should have knowledge of:
- The dental practice health and safety policy
- The health and safety management process within your own dental practice
