Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling
The non-directive pregnancy support counselling course has been developed by ACRRM to support members in meeting the mandatory training requirements for access to MBS item number 4001.
MBS item 4001 is for the GP provision of non-directive pregnancy support counselling services.
In rural and remote generalist practice it is common to provide counselling in situations where a pregnancy is not planned or wanted.
The course will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete and will be followed by an assessment process in which participants will be given a case to review and comment on. Participants will be required to achieve a score of 80% or more for recognition of completion.
The course will attract ACRRM PDP points. Successful completion of this course will enable GPs to claim MBS item number 4001. On completion, ACRRM will report your details to the Department of Human Services. Processing times vary and the DHS will confirm when you can start claiming this item number.
