Chatterbox Therapy Services
Chatterbox Australia Therapy Services provide qualified and experienced staff who are trained to provide your child the therapy they need. For over 15 years, Chatterbox has been providing services to children and their families. Our goal is to provide therapy that is individualised for each child and family centred. Chatterbox was created in 2004 by Melissa De Matteo. Melissa's educational background includes a Bachelor of Health Science with honours and a Masters in Speech Pathology. The creation of Chatterbox was due to the absence of services available to children with special needs back in the early 2000's. Kinder teachers relied on the early intervention system but at that stage there was an18 month wait to see a therapist in the Banyule area. There was also a lack of private practitioners who had experience with dealing with complex children including children with an ASD.

1. Career Development and Supervision Support
Ongoing Development of Skills - This is a major commitment our Leadership Team offers all of our staff. We have a Senior Therapist who is our dedicated Education Coordinator and who oversees and ensures the ongoing training and development of skills. Our team members enjoy in-house training and workshop days, case study exercises, guest speakers, individual supervision and subsidised professional PD development.
Benefits for Junior Therapists - Our Leadership Team understands the extra support needed for Junior Therapists. Our Education Coordinator has created a dedicated mentorship program created specifically for New Graduates and Junior Therapists (less than 12 months experience). All therapists in this category are given an extra bonus of $1000 to spend towards Professional Development when they start working with ChatterBox.

As part of our Occupational Therapy team, you will have the chance to work in multiple areas of treatment, working with toddlers, preschool, primary school-aged children, teens and young adults; all with a range of developmental delays.
Our multidisciplinary team acknowledges that every child and family is unique. There is a belief at Chatterbox in the philosophy of family focused intervention and providing a wide range of diverse therapeutic services. Using these methods, a holistic approach has been created to increase the effectiveness of reaching client and family goals.
Flexibility - you will have the ability to provide therapy via a variety of settings and platforms, including face-to-face sessions, group or online tele-health sessions.
Negotiable options - Part-time & Saturday work and the option for late shifts are available. Online sessions for therapists that need to work from home is also an option i.e., parents with young children who are keen to return to work or even therapists who find it difficult to travel or live-in rural Victoria.
