Overview
Ochre Medical Centre King Island is located in the island’s largest town, Currie. The practice serves a resident population of around 1500 plus all of the visitors who regularly come to the island. The medical practice has been caring for the health and well-being of the King Island community for many years. The practice offers on-call support to the King Island Hospital.
Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday: 9:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm. The Medical Practice is closed for 1 hour between 1:00pm-2:00pm for lunch.

For after hours please call the King Island Hospital on 03 6462 9900. If it is an emergency please call ‘000’.
Billing Type
Ochre Health is a mixed billing practice. Bulk billing is available at the discretion of the individual doctor and as a general guide, pensioners (over 65 years of age), health care card holders and children under 16 years can be bulk billed at certain times during the day. Please ask our friendly reception team for more details. Please also note, we have systems in place to process your Medicare rebate claims on the spot.

Mixed Billings – Our doctors have the ability to bill patients as they see fit, this is to allow them to truly focus on patient care.
