Why work with us
Excellent education opportunities are offered in the area including Public schooling, Anglican, Baptist, Catholic or Seventh Day Adventist options as well as a TAFE college. The area is very sport-focused with all major sports accessible. The performing and creative arts are strong with a busy dedicated Entertainment Centre and a regional Art Gallery.
The Manning area has a population of approx. 45,000. It is a 3½ hour drive to Sydney and 2 hours to Newcastle; alternatively flights are available. Harrington is a growing community with excellent family friendly surfing beaches.

Di Morrissey, a local author writes,
“Sydney friends say a weekend in the Manning Valley is better than a week at any health retreat. They eat well, they sleep well, they find the piece that's missing in their daily lives-tranquillity.
They say it's because there's no obvious reminder of the city; no jarring noise, only the clatter of an occasional train, the lowing of cattle, the call of birds, the soughing of casuarinas along the river bank. And all easy on the eye. No cement, no apartment blocks, no highways and traffic, no unsightly infrastructure."

I was in Albert Street Medical Centre in Taree on most of my Training period as a GP registrar under supervision of Dr Simon Holliday.I stead of 1 term I ended up 3 terms and some extra period in one practice as I did not want to move from this practice. I am working in sydney as a VR GP and moved for my family reason, but I miss my practice in every breath. Its not only the cause of satying there because its a big and busy practice. Othere causes of my extended stay there was Dr Hollidfay's way of teaching and caring with respect towards the registrars, the super happy lovely staffs and nurses , the logical and ethical mediical practice and regulations and obviously the variety of populations to deal with. I strongly brecommend Albert Street medical centre and Harrington Medical Centre as a very reliable, ethical, professional and academic which can leasd to a very bright future specially for GP registrars. Still now I am liked by many patients and can get very busy as people likes my management, its not for only who I am, Its mostly what I learned from Simon and colleagues.I learned pateints are not only patients , they have a life as a social human being. And the way of study I learnt from Simon whicl led me having very good scores in My Fellowship as well. I and my family had most precious time in Taree while I was training In Albert Street and Harrington. I wish I could go Back There.... Read Less

I thoroughly enjoyed my six months GP Term 1 at Albert street and Harrington Medical Centres in 2016. It was a great introduction to rural general practice in Australia. The practices both have a varied patient population; in one day I would be seeing babies, teenagers, families as well as elderly patients with chronic health issues. All of the staff are fantastic and will welcome you as one of the team. Dr Simon Holliday is a great supervisor, always making himself available for advice and sharing his expertise. His specialist knowledge in drug and alcohol is invaluable. I had the fantastic opportunity to attend a half day weekly in his local hospital clinic. This has given me knowledge and confidence not only in managing drug and alcohol problems with my patients, but skills that I have been able to apply through a variety of other areas in general practice such as chronic pain management and motivation interviewing....
