Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) is a non-profit, government funded organisation specialising in recruitment, support and retention of the healthcare workforce. We focus on three main areas that include:
Providing access to health professionals where we recruit GPs, nurses and allied health professionals as well as arrange GP locum relief. RWAV also provides outreach services to rural communities to gain access to specialists and health professionals. Through our programs we have been able to provide better health outcomes to Aboriginal and Torres Islander communities in rural Victoria.

To improve the quality of the healthcare workforce RWAV provides access to government grants for continuous professional development. We also support doctors in their progression towards Fellowship and support them to gain advanced and extended skills. In addition, RWAV provide medical practices with business support, training as well as networking opportunities.
Sustainability of the health workforce is vital and therefore RWAV is dedicated to increasing opportunities for medical, nursing and allied health students as well as high school students to gain an in depth knowledge of the benefits and opportunities of working in rural Victoria and raise the profile of rural practice.
