Cannabis Access Clinics are focussed on helping doctors and patients navigate the regulatory pathway for prescribing medicinal cannabis products in Australia and New Zealand.  

Our clinics work closely with patients who suffer from indications for which there is some evidence that medicinal cannabis therapies may be beneficial. We work in accordance with TGA Guidance documents on medicinal cannabis, consulting patients with indications including Chronic Pain (including Cancer Pain), Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in cancer (CINV), Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, HIV Aids and others.

We welcome referrals from GP’s or Specialists who feel their patients may benefit from medical cannabis treatments. Our doctors can consult patients at our physical clinics (see our website for a list of capital cities we operate in), or nationwide through our video based telehealth service.

Our doctors, under the guidance of our medical director Dr Sanjay Nijhawan, (MBBS,FRACGP,FACRRM, DIPPDERM(WALES) MHCD(HARVARD)  are all AHPRA registered medical professionals who are familiar with qualifying conditions for medicinal cannabis treatments, and products legally available for prescription.

Our medical team is backed by an allied health team with deep knowledge and experience in regulatory requirements for medicinal cannabis approvals. Our team collaborates closely with patients’ existing GP and Specialist(s) to keep them informed about the progress of consultations and approval applications.  We also provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of patient status to patients clinicians via Case Conferencing.

Products prescribed by our doctors include registered medicines as well as unregistered products compliant with TGO93 and made available under Regulation 5 of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 for supply of unregistered medicinal cannabis products.
