Springbank Medical Centre (SMC) is a General Practice located within the City of Salisbury.  The practice offers a wide range of medical services including Allied Heath to the community of Burton and surrounding areas.

The practice was established in August 2008.  Springbank Medical Centre is a teaching practice. It is approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). We have regular placements of registrars training to achieve their Fellowship of RACGP. We also offer teaching and supervision of International Medical Graduates (IMG’s).

In 2012 Springbank Medical Centre was successful in gaining a Primary Care Infrastructure Grant from the Department of Health and Ageing. This has enabled the practice to add on additional five additional consulting rooms, a larger treatment room (with 2 beds), an onsite pathology collection service and a kitchenette / staff room.

These extended facilities have enabled us to exponentially increase access for patients with chronic diseases. We now have more GP’s and wider range of Allied Health Care Providers (podiatrists, dietician, physiotherapists and mental health clinician) all located onsite.

The level of immunisation coverage we have provided to the community has also increased significantly.

The practice is located within the Springbank Plaza Shopping Centre and is accessible from either of two entrances, one directly from the car park and one through the pharmacy next door.  The practice is open extended hours and seven days per week.

Springbank Medical Centre currently has 7 GPs, 5 receptionists, 1 full-time Practice Manager, 1 Registered Nurse. As detailed above, the clinic also has a Dietician, a Podiatrist, a Physiotherapist and Mental Health Clinician.

Springbank Medical Centre provides a wide range of “Primary Care Services” and the Special interests of the practice include but are not limited to: Chronic Disease Management, Wound Management, Diabetes, Mental Health, Women's Health, Men's Health, Antenatal and Shared Care and Paediatrics.
