Candidate Matching and Screening Explained

Candidate Matching and Screening Explained

HealthcareLink's Candidate Matching and Screening service identifies and screens candidates aligned to your requirements, providing a shortlist of qualified healthcare professionals to support your hiring decisions.

This service is part of HealthcareLink's Hiring Support offering, which takes care of the end-to-end hiring process so you can focus on running your practice.

What Is Candidate Matching and Screening?

Once candidates have been sourced, our Hiring Support team assesses each one against your role requirements and conducts a structured screening process before presenting you with a verified shortlist. You only spend time reviewing candidates who have already been checked.

What the Screening Includes

Each candidate is assessed across the following areas before reaching your shortlist:

  1. Photo acquisition -- a current candidate photo is obtained for identification purposes.
  2. Resume verification -- the candidate's resume is checked against their recorded profile information.
  3. Phone screen vetting -- a structured phone screen is conducted to verify details and gather additional information, including how far the candidate is willing to travel for work and any cultural or ethical considerations relevant to your role.
  4. Referee details -- contact details for two work-related referees are collected and recorded.
  5. English comprehension -- the candidate's English comprehension level is assessed during the phone screen.
  6. Attitude and engagement -- our team notes the candidate's communication style and overall engagement throughout the screening process.
  7. Health and work capacity -- any health conditions that may impact the candidate's ability to perform the role are noted where relevant.
  8. Skills and experience -- the candidate's specific skills, equipment familiarity, and types of clients they have worked with are documented.
  9. Registration checks -- candidate registration is verified against AHPRA, ESSA, ASAR, and other relevant regulatory bodies to confirm they hold a current and valid registration to practise in Australia.
