About the opportunity
Permanent full-time positions are available at Orange and Dubbo Dental Clinics.  Temporary full-time positions are available Bathurst Dental Clinic until December 2019.  An eligibility list will be created for any future positions that may arise in Western NSW Local Health District.  Applicants interested in any Level 1/2 Dental Officer positions in Western NSW LHD should apply.

What you'll be doing
To improve oral health of clients through clinical assessment and treatment.


To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria

  • Current Authority to practise as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), OR applicants who will be suitability qualified through course completion in this calendar year may apply pending graduation and registration.
  • Very good operative skills, treatment planning and patient management skills in general public sector dentistry, commensurate with the applicant’s years of experience. Note that for appointment to Level 2 a minimum of 2 years clinical experience is required together with comprehensive clinical experience and higher levels of clinical productivity.
  • Strong commitment to work in rural NSW and understanding of issues related to working in Aboriginal communities and with rural communities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive and professional interpersonal communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and collaborative member of a multidisciplinary dental clinic team in a range of settings including but not limited to public dental clinics, Residential Aged Care settings and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a digital dental environment, including but not limited to electronic oral health records, digital imaging and telehealth systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to provide regular outreach clinical services, including an ability and willingness to travel for work purposes, including driving long distances, occasional travel by light aircraft and some overnight stays. Evidence of a minimum NSW Class C Drivers Licence is required.
