Work in a medical practice with close association to the regional hospital. Enjoy a warm and friendly family practice environment closely connected to the local farming community.
Providing a broad scope of general practice you will have access to a small regional hospital, nursing homes and a suite of allied health practitioners. Experience in aged care along with exceptional communication skills and bedside manner will help you seamlessly integrate into the community.
Ongoing support and training is available throughout the region and in-clinic you will work with a GP, two practice nurses and administration staff.
AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist
Knowledge of schedule 8 medication
60-70% depending on experience
Accommodation and transportation costs covered for the first three months.
One-on-one orientation to the clinic and the patient base.
Relocation package may be negotiable
This AGPAL accredited, practice is a multidisciplinary clinic with 2 nurses who provide wound management, care plans, pap smears and wide range of support to the GP’s. Hospital service includes 5 acute hospital beds, 12 nursing beds and Registered nurses service the Primary Health and Medical Services on a 24/7 basis. The practice also contains 3 consulting rooms and approximately 25-30 patients are seen in a day.
Practice hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mondays, Wednesdays and 8.00am to 12.00 pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Heywood, population 1725, is a picturesque town in the heart of Victoria’s discovery coast just under an hour drive from Hamilton.
Located in the south-west of Victoria, you will be in close proximity to the larger communities of Portland, Port Fairy, Warrnambool and Hamilton. The area of Heywood includes many nature reserves and State National Parks for you to explore. An important cultural element of the area is the Budj Bim National Heritage Landscape that includes both the Tyrendarra Area and Mount Eccles Lake Condah Area. You will learn and understand the cultural importance to the Gunditjmara of the Condah Mission Station and aquaculture system for eel trapping. A short drive and you will be able to experience a wide variety of leisure activities to include dining on the local produce, shopping, relaxing on the beach, camping, canoeing and much more.
