Position Description:

This busy clinic will happily accommodate a Fulltime or Part time GP to transition into an established group practice seeing approximately 740 patients per week. You will be well supported  to pass fellowship exams with a team of 6 doctors, 4 fellowed.  There are currently 1 in 7 nights, weekend rotation in place for after-hours/ on-call, shared with local single hander). The successful GP will be willing to engage with patience’s, work as part of a team and commit to comprehensive GP care.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA registration- General or Specialists registration

  • Some experience working in an Australian hospital system (preferred not essential)

  • Ability to support upskilling in interested courses (upskilling grants available through RWAV)

The package:

  • Engaged as a Fulltime contractor (approx. annual billings $250,000-$300,000+)

  • Eligible for ROMPS (VR rates* applied through Medicare)

  • Salary sacrifice available into superannuation

  • Afterhours on call remuneration (included in percentage calculation for contractors and salary package for salaried)

  • Eligible for RLRP and mentor provided – Onsite VR supervision available

  • 4 weeks annual leave for FT (pro rata PT)

  • 10 days sick leave and 10 days long service leave



Practice Details:

This practice is fully computerized with Medical Director/Prac Soft, AGPAL accredited and is also a Teaching practice. There are 6 consulting rooms occupying 6 doctors (4 fellowed and 2 on ROMPs). Full range from Ante-natal to Palliative care are provided and also includes few emergency care, minor surgery, Implanon, vaccinations, and plastering. Facilities such as pathology and pharmacy are located conveniently across the street from the clinic.

The practice hours are Monday– Friday 8 am – 5 pm, Saturday On-call doctor does a morning surgery and afternoon on call. Sunday, on call, if required. The major health issues dealt with by the practice are aged care and child & maternity.

Latrobe Regional Hospital is located 7kms to the West, between Traralgon and Morwell, on the Princes Highway, no VMO is required. There are specialists and allied health professionals available to patients via a full range of referral options for EPC.
