Strong support and mentoring
You will be joining a long-standing and highly reputable GP clinic attached to the local health service. Working in a full-time capacity, you will be completing up to 10 sessions / week and participating in an on-call / after-hours roster with the incumbent GP’s. This roster will see you participate 1 in 3. You will also hold VMO rights to the local health service and conduct rounds when required.
The practice will provide you with a detailed orientation and induction program to assist you and your family to settle into the practice and the community at large. You will be afforded ongoing support and mentoring from a strong team of Vocationally Registered GP’s who will help you with your professional growth and development.
Limited registration level 3-4 supervision, General or specialist.
Australian GP or hospital experience preferred

This well-established, fully computerised practice has been providing trusted care and quality medical services to the local community for over 22 years. Attached to the local Health Services and servicing a catchment population of over 4,500; the practice focusses on supporting their patients to be healthy and live a full life. An accredited, computerised practice, currently comprising of 2 GP’s and visiting specialists; Doctors are supported in practice by four receptionists, Practice Manager, 1 Enrolled Nurse, 1 Registered Nurse and visiting Allied Health Specialists. You will have access to a treatment room where services such as minor surgeries, suturing, vaccinations and general ‘lumps and bumps’ procedures are performed. Pathology services are coordinated daily and along with a diabetic educator, and an asthma nurse, Australian Hearing service, Australian Cardiac Diagnostic Service for Echo ultrasounds monthly.
Practice hours are Monday to Friday from 09:00 – 17:30. Incumbent GP’s will participate in providing after-hours / on-call services to the local Health Service and will participate in a oncall roster.
The local Health Service has podiatrists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, visiting ENT surgeon who work closely with the clinic. Bendigo X-Ray works 3 days a week next to the clinic.
In 2012, a prestigious award was given to the local Nursing home for Innovation in Dementia Care at the Victoria Public Heathcare Awards. The incumbent Doctors contribute to care at this nursing home and assist in ongoing research.
The town of Warracknabeal is situated between Horsham and Hopetoun in the north-west of the state. The attractive Yarriambiack Creek flows through Warracknabeal, lined with river gums and populated with water birds. There are several footbridges across the creek and a boat ramp off Craig Avenue. A flora and fauna park is located on a sweeping bend of the creek at the northern end of Scott Street and it includes BBQ and picnic areas, a playground and native animals housed in large enclosures.
Warracknabeal is 340 km or almost 4 hours from Melbourne. The closest regional town is Horsham which is just 35 minutes away. VLine train services run to the area daily.
