Joining a newly developed after-hours service (established February 2015) you will choose the number of shifts and days of work.

A purely after-hours service you will attend to the medical needs of the patients in their own homes and across a number of aged care facilities.

With a focus on bedside manner and delivering exceptional customer service, this may be an ideal opportunity for you to enter general practice and gain experience while working in-hospital.

Essential Criteria

  • AHPRA General or Specialist Registration

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Exceptional customer service and bedside manner

  • Evidence of Advanced Life Support program

  • Emergency department experience highly advantageous

The Package

In return for your dedication to the service and the community, you will be offered:

Practice Details:

Servicing the greater Shepparton area this after-hours service currently has 16 doctors (with eight doctors regularly participating in after-hours shifts). Due to consistent growth in patient numbers and to meet future business requirements, the service wishes to increase to two doctors per shift.

With the support of the local medical community, the after-hours service is backed by the largest network of home visiting doctors that has over 500 doctors who have cared for over 800,000 patients in the last year.

The service is open to offering opportunities to doctors who are considering transitioning to general practice and wish to trial before making a firm commitment.  They are also open to assisting doctors to meet RACGP GPE components (up to 2.5 years) to enable them to complete FRACGP.

With future expansion plans in place, this newly developed service is open to discussing other geographical locations that may fit your needs.

Hours

  • From 6:00 pm weekdays

  • From 12:00 pm Saturdays

  • All day Sunday and public holidays

A national call centre manages all enquiries.  A five-six hour shift may see you attend to 10 – 12 patients and the vast majority of shifts are completed by midnight.
