Solo GP covering clinic, hospital and bush nursing sites
VMO and On-call required
Clinic uses rotation of GP’s to over 1 EFT
Required dates: 21 – 27 April, 5 – 10 May, 19-24 May, 14 – 19 July, 18 – 23 August, 15 – 20 September, 10 – 15 November , 15 – 27 December 2019
Practice hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (between all three sites) Sundays after hours clinic 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. plus on-call
Fees: $577 per session, on-call $150 weekdays, $200 weekends, $250 public holidays plus 100% billings.
Will reimburse petrol up to maximum of $500 (with receipts) and provide vehicle for use on arrival.
A three bedroom house is also provided within walking distance to clinic.
Role: Working as a solo GP at clinic and covering Swift’s Creek & Ensay Bush Nursing Centres. Also required to do VMO and on-call at Omeo District Health aged care facility (14 beds) and 4 acute care beds. You will be well supported by excellent Nursing and practice staff.
The Omeo Medical Centre is an accredited, computerised practice operated by Omeo District Health. It has one well-equipped consulting room and a treatment room. A rotation of doctors are supported by highly experienced nursing and administration staff. The main patient health issues for the clinic are aged care , chronic disease and family health. The practice provides services to the Omeo District Hospital which has four acute beds, an emergency treatment room and 14 aged care beds and also to tow bush nursing centres. Allied health services available include physiotherapy, OT, social work, speech therapy, and dietetics. Bulk billing applies for health care holders, aged pension and disability card holders.
About Omeo: Very picturesque town with lots to explore. The small pioneering mountain town (population 300) is located in an attractive open and undulating plain, surrounded by beautiful high mountain ranges. Fishing, particularly for trout, is a popular activity in the many creeks and waterways in the area and the alpine resorts of Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham, located less than an hour drive west, are popular with visitors. Swift creek is also worth a look around as has historical buildings and a great bakery. The larger regional town of Bairnsdale is one hour away.
