The role:

Working in a full time capacity, you will join a busy clinic which is part of a larger corporate organisation that operates nineteen clinics throughout Melbourne and the Gippsland region.

Replacing a GP, there is an existing patient cohort for you to access and consistent new patient requests.

There are no on-call or VMO requirements however participation in a shared after-hours roster is required.  Some flexibility exists with roster participation

A detailed orientation and induction to the clinic will assist you to transition seamlessly into a well-supported team environment.  Access to study groups and in-house education will provide support for you to achieve Specialist qualifications.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist GP

  • Australian general practice experience

  • Accident and emergency skills

  • Chronic disease experience preferred

The package:

  • 60% of bulk billings

  • Initial 3 months guaranteed income

  • % for after-hours participation

  • Negotiable relocation expense subsidy

Practice Details:

This practice has been servicing the medical needs of the Morwell and surrounding community for more than ten years.  A GPA accredited teaching practice, using Best Practice, houses six consulting rooms, a chronic disease room and two treatment rooms.  Support is provided by incumbent GPs highly experienced practice nurses, a dedicated chronic disease nurse, friendly administration staff and a practice manager.

The existing patient cohort offers a broad scope of treatments with a high prevalence of chronic disease and mental health.

Trusted referral pathways are available through the greater community and Latrobe Regional Hospital.  A visiting Psychiatrist is available in clinic.

Practice hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm; Tuesday, 8.30am – 6.45pm; Saturday 8.00am – 5.00pm and Sunday, 9.00pm – 4.00pm

Morwell is located in the heart of the Latrobe Valley and is known as Victoria’s energy centre.  Situated 150km east of Melbourne it is home to one of Gippsland’s major cultural facilities and the Centenary Rose Garden.
