Working full time, you will provide GP and O&G treatments to an existing patient base. Working with eleven incumbent GPs, you will be supported by eight practice nurses, highly experienced administration staff and a practice manager.

Part of a strong collegiate environment, flexibility is available for you in choosing your working hours and days to provide constant medical access to the community.

Your existing O&G experience and qualifications will enable one of the senior partners to remove himself from the O&G lists and focus solely on general practice.

After-hours are completed in clinic with a rotational roster for evening clinic work. On-call participation for both GP and O&G is required and shared among all GPs in Colac. Nursing home attendance is at your discretion and VMO rights is a requirement.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist GP

  • O&G experience

  • Advanced DRANZCOG

  • Urgent care experience 

The Package:

  • 60% – 65% of billings reflective of experience

  • 70% of billings for on-call

  • Initial 3 month guaranteed income period

Practice Details:

This doctor-owned group practice is an AGPAL accredited teaching practice that provides support for future workforce by training and mentoring GP Registrars, medical students and general nursing students.

The practice consists of ten GP consulting rooms, treatment rooms and allied health rooms which house diabetes educators, asthma educators and a women’s health nurse. Other services include Anaesthetics, industrial medicine and visiting surgeons. Pathology and diagnostic imaging is available at Colac Area Health.

A mixed billing clinic with a large proportion of bulk billing services provides treatments to a broad scope of patient demographics.

Clinic hours are Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 8.30am; Saturday, 9.00am – 12.00pm; and Sunday, 10.00am – 11.00am.

Colac is situated 150km southwest of Melbourne and has a population of approximately 11,000, with a hinterland population of an additional 15,000. One of Australia’s richest farming areas, it is surrounded by a landscape of freshwater and saltwater lakes and volcanic craters. High quality schools and sporting facilities are available with access to Geelong Grammar, Geelong College and Deakin University only one hours’ drive.
