Vacancy Details

Commencing in a full-time capacity (ten sessions per week) you will join a modern well-established practice.

Open to offering limited/provisional registration supervision, you will work under the supervision of a well-respected GP. You will participate in the after-hours weekend roster shared across all GPs including one in three weekends. VMO rights are available with the local hospital and you will also attend to two local nursing homes.

As part of GPA accreditation an excellent orientation and induction to the practice and community is available. Access to accommodation, schooling, community services and social, sporting and special interest opportunities will also be available to ensure a successful move to the vibrant and welcoming city of Portland.

Essential Criteria

  • AHPRA registration – supervision level 2 and above

  • General Practice or Hospital experience

  • Ability to perform minor surgical procedures

  • Experience in care management plans

The Package

You will be engaged as an independent contractor and receive:

  • Negotiable percentage of billings

  • Negotiable guaranteed income period

Practice Details:

This is an accredited teaching practice where you will work with two doctors and supported by a practice nurse, practice manager and an experienced administration team.

On-site pathology is available Monday to Friday and access to allied health professionals is in place through strong referral pathways. In clinic, you will access audiometry, podiatry, diabetes education and psychiatric nursing. The patient cohort provides a broad and interesting mix of cases across all age groups though there is a high proportion of aged care and chronic disease case presentations.

Located behind the practice is the local public hospital with 69 approved acute beds, 30 nursing home beds and a 58 place supported residential service.

Allied health and specialist services available include urology, respiratory, audiology, orthotics, podiatry, psychology, counselling, diabetes education, dietetics, O&G, occupational therapy, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, dental, general surgery, and speech pathology.
