Working across two co-located clinics in Warrnambool, you will provide a broad range of prevention, early intervention and treatment for a variety of conditions. This diverse setting focuses on all aspects of General Practice including patients with drug and alcohol problems and mental health conditions.

You will provide 6 sessions per week at the public GP clinic and 4 sessions per week at the youth clinic. The two clinics are conveniently located 5 minute walk from each other making it very easy for you to work across both locations.

As a VR GP, you will also an opportunity to be part of a mentoring program working with Deakin Medical School that provides supervision for registrars, interns and medical students.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration –Vocational or Specialist

  • Australian health system experience

  • Ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages with substance use and mental health problems

Practice Details:

The public GP clinic is one of the few general practices in Warrnambool to offer a comprehensive range of bulk-billing services. The service is fully accredited and supported by 3 other GP’s, a Registered Nurse, a Mental Health Nurse, Practice Manager and administrative staff.

The Youth Services Clinic is a community-based not-for-profit organisation that provides services that promote and improve the life circumstances for people who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, especially those experiencing homelessness, family violence, marginalisation or disconnectedness.  The AGPAL accredited medical practice is supported by 3 other part-time GP’s, a part time Registered Nurse, a Practice Manager administrative staff.

Practice hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm for both clinics
