Occupational Therapist Grade 2: Lakes Entrance

An opportunity exists for an experienced OT to join a well equipped,multi-disciplinary community health,located in the beautiful coastal town of Lakes Entrance.

This position forms part of the Complete Therapies service unit, responsible for providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Podiatry, Exercise Physiology, Art therapy, Hand Therapy, extensive Allied Health Paediatric services, Autism Diagnostic Observation Service, School Readiness Support, Health Promotion programs and daily Social Support Groups. The unit also delivers quality Early Education and Childcare and a four year old kindergarten program.

All the services will be delivered in both private and public models and are funded from a range of sources including Medicare, NDIS and care management. Services may be delivered to individuals and in group settings, and may be on site, in client’s homes, or in education facilities.

Supportive team environment and professional development opportunities regionally and state-wide are available. Provide supervision and support to Grade 1 therapists  and Allied Health Assistants to enhance their clinical and professional skill set.

Medicare registration will be required for this role and the practice will assist this process upon commencement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current occupational therapy practices and outcomes.
  • Experience in group development and facilitation is desirable.
  • Proven ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external service providers, professionals and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated skills in time and workload management.
  • Be a SWEP registered practitioner, or be willing to undertake the required training.
  • Interest or demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following clinical areas of practice: Paediatrics, Rehabilitation, Hand Therapy and Community.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’s Check.

With service sites in Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, Bruthen, Metung and Nowa Nowa, services offered are divided into five units with a strong multi-disciplinary approach; Aged and Disability, Clinical and Nursing, Allied Health, Corporate, and Family Youth & Children’s Services.
