Wimmera Health Care Group (WHCG) are seeking an enthusiastic registered physiotherapist (experienced or new graduate) to join their large team of allied health professionals.
The successful candidate will provide effective and efficient physiotherapy management of patients in a range of areas, including outpatients, acute, rehabilitation and groups. You will have the flexibility to rotate between roles with other staff members as per required and experience a broad patient age demographic of new born to geriatrics. The Physiotherapy Department has an Equivalent Full Time (EFT) of 11.2 staff members including allied health assistant and an exercise physiologist.
Full time capacity – will consider part time hours for the right candidate
Grade 1-2 classification of qualified physiotherapist professionals considered

Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
Current Driver’s License
Hold membership/compliant with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA)
Employment experience as a Physiotherapist
Collect ward lists including ICU on daily basis and formulate prioritised patient list
Check and update Electronic Patient Journey Board (EPJB) on a daily basis
Ensure patient pathways are followed and physiotherapist services provided on appropriate day
Effective and patient centred goal setting and discharge planning
Implementation of appropriate rehabilitation interventions
Completion of all mandatory admission and discharge requirements of the sub-acute programs
Follows all group processes and documentation required
Attends and participates in team meetings as required
Delivers talks to group participants as required
Provides appropriate Physiotherapy interventions for a wide range of presentations
Appropriate referrals made to other departments, groups and services
Goal setting and discharge planning completed appropriately
Substantial support for attendance of professional development (inclusive of financial support for registration, accommodation and travel, plus study leave entitlements). Regular in-services performed dependant on what courses have been attended by other staff members. At weekly staff meetings a rotating roster for staff is used to provide a presentation on a matter pertinent to Physiotherapy, to help ensure they stay ahead of research and recent development.
An Allied Health New Graduate Support program exists to assist new graduates transition into the workforce. This position will offer a great introduction to employment as a Physiotherapist whereby the incumbent candidate would obtain experience across a major areas of the speciality with potential to gain exposure to more specialist areas (eg. hand therapy, persistent pain, women’s health, pediatrics). As a new graduate you will have access to a large amount of funding to attend courses with orientation/mentorship provided complimentary enabling an effective transition process.
