This hospital is a 120 bed acute care surgical and medical facility that provides the highest quality healthcare, modern facilities and the latest technology. In 2011 facilities and services were further boosted with the opening of a multimillion dollar development. This saw the hospital’s physical size increase by 70% and the addition of services and specialties, including a new 27 bed medical unit, a new 9 bed intensive care and coronary care unit, a new 6 bed day oncology unit, a new cardiac investigations unit and new medical consulting suites and specialist centres. The existing state of the art theatre unit and three medical and surgical units have also undergone refurbishment and facility upgrades in recent times.
The hospital is situated approximately four hours’ drive and only a 45 minute flight north of Queensland's capital, Brisbane. The city is the provincial hub of this vibrant region, and is centred on a picturesque river at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. Residents have easy access to a wide variety of services and vital infrastructure; these include public schools and colleges, and major university campuses and a TAFE.
The region's notable features include its equable climate, relaxed and inviting lifestyle, affordable living, modern shopping facilities, plentiful tourism destinations and diverse economic opportunities. Such factors, together with the friendliness of its residents, make this area a superb place to live.
To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FACD or be close to completing your fellowship and be eligible for registration with AHPRA. If you are unsure if you meet the selection criteria please forward a copy of your most recent resume and I will assess your eligibility and will advise you of your options.
