The role would be based in the heart of Cairns City in tropical Far North Queeesland. As the largest and leading provider in the NQPHN catchment, is committed to the delivery of primary mental health and wellbeing services to people in regional, rural and remote communities. We offer diverse, flexible and integrated services across the lifespan, ranging from prevention and early intervention, mild to moderate, to more severe and complex presentations, delivered across socially and geographically challenging boundaries.
We are seeking Psychologist to join our team as we expand our services within the Cairns region.
After Hours requirements :
There is no after hours requirement unless operational requirements are needed, the successful candidate would be consulted about this prior.
Candidate profile :
We are looking for candidate who poses the following:
*Full AHPRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is essential;
*Eligibility to obtain Medicare Provider number;
*Sound knowledge of National Mental Health Standards;
*Ability to provide psychological therapies to children and families;
*Have a sound understanding of attachment theory, childhood development and family systems is essential;
*A postgraduate degree in clinical psychology (or near completion)/ or be a registered Psychologist with extensive experience providing therapy to young people and their families would be desirable;
*Ability to pass and maintain a positive national criminal police check;
*Knowledge of the child protection reporting requirements of health professionals;
*Commitment to delivering psychological services as an integrated part of a multidisciplinary team.
