About the Opportunity
Join our Child and Family Health Nursing team at Tooleybuc/Moulamein communities. Make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of children aged 0–5 and their families. In this community-focused role, you will support families through a strengths-based, wellness-focused approach that builds parental confidence and capability. By providing information, resources, guidance, and role modelling safe and responsive care, you will help families achieve positive health outcomes.
Using evidence-based screening tools and comprehensive assessments, you will identify health variations or vulnerabilities and work collaboratively with families to develop tailored care plans, and interventions that meet their individual needs.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), meeting all NMBA Registered Nurse standards for practice, and complying with relevant standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks.
- Post Graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health, along with Authorised Nurse Immuniser status and Family Partnership Training. (Candidates may be working towards these qualifications or complete them within 12 months of commencement.)
- Strong capability in continuous quality improvement, including comprehensive assessment skills, care planning, delivery of safe and responsive nursing practice, and evaluation of outcomes to guide ongoing care.
- Competence and knowledge in caring for individuals and families, with an understanding of the complexities and challenges relevant to the specialty area.
- Well-developed therapeutic and professional relationship skills, including effective communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health environment.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to provide leadership, embrace change, and act as a positive change agent in the coordination and delivery of care.
- Commitment to professional development, actively maintaining and expanding knowledge, skills, and professional qualities through research and evidence-based practice, in line with contemporary nursing standards.
- A Class C Driver Licence and the willingness to travel for work purposes, including potentially long distances across the MLHD.
