About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Health Clinician (Level 4) to complement and enhance the current Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit.
The Transitional Rehabilitation Service (TRS) of the Liverpool Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU) strives to provide high quality rehabilitation services and outcomes to patients. The TRS consists of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT) that works collaboratively to meet the complex needs of the patients.
The Clinical Coordinator is an integral role within the MDT, and the incumbent will have the opportunity to guide the TRS team and patients’ rehabilitations programs, and contribute to service delivery and service development within the broader BIRU team. What you'll be doing
The Clinical Coordinator of the Transitional Rehabilitation Service (TRS) is a key position within the Liverpool Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (LBIRU). LBIRU is part of a state-wide specialist network which provides rehabilitation and long term support to people with traumatic brain injury within the South and South Western Sydney metropolitan areas as well as people in Southern and South Western NSW. It is a unique position that is responsible for providing and facilitating leadership, support, education and translating research to ensure the clinical needs of clients are met.
The position has a wide scope of responsibility which requires a high level of clinical skill, leadership and service development expertise. The position requires the incumbent to be highly skilled in their clinical field, with a well-developed knowledge of the roles of different disciplines within the multidisciplinary team; to have the ability to make critical clinical and administrative decisions independently and as part of the team; and to be well informed and dynamic in service planning, development and delivery to ensure best practice in all areas of the service. The incumbent is required to provide a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation journey for clients with complex physical, behavioural, cognitive and language needs and to coordinate decision making to facilitate increasing independence, community participation and adjustment to injury.
Core responsibilities of this position include: coordinating the effective planning and implementation of client care, therapy and discharge processes; organisation, provision and facilitation of team, client, carer and internal/external stakeholder education and support; service development, evaluation and translation of research into practice; development and provision of links with external agencies for networking, service development and client care; and facilitation of consumer participation in service delivery and planning.

Relevant qualifications under the Allied Health Professional Award or Community Employees Psychologists (State) Award, which provides eligibility for membership with relevant professional association or current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
