Clinical Nurse Specialist (Immunisation)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a experienced, passionate and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialists / Clinical Midwife Specialists Grade 2 - Immunisation, to join MLHD.
In this advanced role, you will lead the delivery of a project to develop and embed vaccination into routine care provided by LHD clinical services. You will work with MLHD clinical services to support the implementation or expansion of vaccine availability and develop the services’ capability and capacity to provide vaccines. You will provide expert consultation, education and mentorship, contributing to clinical excellence, safety and continuous improvement. You will also support the project requirements, including undertaking evaluation and reporting to the Ministry of Health.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver advanced, evidence-based immunisation care, including assessment, vaccination and follow-up 
• Provide clinical leadership, education and support to staff, patients and the community on immunisation practices 
• Promote safe vaccine management, including cold chain compliance and adverse event (AEFI) management 
• Support quality improvement, policy and service develop of immunisation programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting across immunisation systems 
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and public health services to optimise vaccination outcomes 
• Deliver project requirements, including undertaking evaluation and writing reports for LHD executive and Ministry of Health.
