Psyc Spot Psychology Clinic

Our practice is hoping to have 2 more Clinical Psychologists or Clinical Psychology Registrars joining the team (each 2 days per week; there should be a few combinations of dates/locations we can explore).

Our practice started at the beginning of 2020 and gradually built a strong reputation and solid referral ties. Our client base is mostly comprised of high functioning adults whose struggles can nonetheless be highly idiosyncratic and/or severe. However, we also have a sizeable portion of clients who have lived rougher lives and otherwise struggle to adapt in this society. Existing team members will tell you they have a very diversified and interesting caseload.

What We Offer

  • A supportive culture that facilitates our practitioners' growth.
  • Sustainable workload (eg, book 6 to see 5 clients a day on average).
  • Generous remuneration rates and fair contract terms.
  • Regular supervision for Clinical Registrars from board approved supervisor with extensive experience (eg, supervised >140 thus far).
  • Monthly peer supervision arranged by the practice.
  • Easy-to-use and efficient clinical system with support from reception team.

You Will Need

  • Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • AHPRA registration and ability to apply for Medicare Provider Number.
  • ABN for contractor / sole-trader work.
  • Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Essential Qualities

  • Warm, personable, open-minded but sensible.
  • Proficiency in more than one modality (applied fluidly and sensibly rather than rigidly).
  • Some experience with complex presentations (eg, personality disorders, psychosis, dissociative conditions).
  • Self-reflective, eager to learn, and strives to improve one’s knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent work ethics, honest, dependable, and capable of working autonomously.
  • Possibility of staying and growing with the practice (eg, not just looking for a few months of temp work before next step in career/life).
  • Can do 5-6pm appointments at least on some days.
  • Has or willing to have registration with SIRA to see WorkCover and CTP clients.

Desirable Qualities

  • Interest in relational, insight-oriented, emotion-focused, and other humanistic and existential therapies.
  • Experience in or willingness to see NDIS self-managed clients.
  • Able to see families, children, and adolescents (ie, 15 years old or younger).
  • Able to see couples for relationship work.
  • Able to do ADHD assessments.
