Dental Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Mount Waverley Dental in Melbourne, VIC. This opportunity is for an individual who is reliable and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth running of our dental practice. Currently required to cover 4 weekdays and Saturday mornings. Some flexibility will be required to cover staff holidays/absences.

What you'll be doing:

Assisting dentists with patient care, including chairside support, sterilisation of instruments, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Setting up for the day and closing the surgery

Handling some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries, and managing patient records, data entry, occasionally liaising with company reps and some ordering (if necessary)

Facilitating effective communication between patients, dentists, and other team members

Interacting in a professional manner and maintaining a high standard of customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients

Undertaking additional duties as required to contribute to the overall success of the practice such as general cleaning and maintenance of equipment

What we're looking for:

At least one year of experience in the industry- orthodontic, cosmetic, and/or surgical experience highly regarded. However, applicants with lesser experience may be considered

Candidates may qualify with 2+ years of relevant dental assisting experience even without formal Certificate III or IV qualifications, as experience alone is considered sufficient

A positive, friendly, and professional demeanour, delivering confident and clear communications, building genuine connections with patients of all ages and backgrounds

Excellent clinical and technical skills with attention to detail

Proficiency with computers, ability to multitask and support other staff members as the situation arises

Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa is required for this position

A genuine interest in the dental industry and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
