ED HMO Locum Opportunities – Train, Learn & Live in Victoria’s High Country

Prescript is excited to offer ongoing ED HMO locum opportunities at Northeast Health Wangaratta, a leading referral hospital for North East Victoria. With a recently upgraded Emergency Department, strong senior support, and a busy, diverse caseload, this is an ideal environment for doctors to build hands-on experience in a collaborative regional setting.

Set in Victoria’s stunning High Country, just 2.5 hours from Melbourne, this role combines rewarding clinical work with the chance to enjoy one of the state’s most scenic lifestyle regions.

Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is a 228-bed regional health service supporting more than 100,000 people. As the major referral hospital in the region, NHW provides a wide range of services and is known for its supportive culture and commitment to developing junior doctors.

The ED sees 80–110 presentations per day, giving HMOs exposure to a broad variety of cases. Facilities include:

• A recently upgraded Emergency Department

• An 8-bed Short Stay Unit

• A dedicated Paediatric Ward with 8 single rooms

You’ll work closely with Registrars, CMOs, and senior staff specialists, gaining valuable exposure while being supported in a structured environment.

• Position: ED HMO (PGY3+)

• Rates: $115–$200 per hour (crisis rates available)

• Shift Times: 08:00–17:30 | 14:00–23:30 | 22:30–08:30

• Requirements: Recent ED experience and ALS2 certification

• September 2025 – Day shifts on 18–19 Sept; night block 26–30 Sept; evening/SSU shifts across 27–28 Sept

• October 2025 – Night block 4–8 Oct; additional night shifts 25–31 Oct

• November 2025 – Mixed shifts 1–2 Nov, including SSU, evenings, and nights
